Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Arise From Nowhere. While You're Able



The New York Times:


"The stubborn yet false rumor that President Obama’s health care proposals would create government-sponsored “death panels” to decide which patients were worthy of living seemed to arise from nowhere in recent weeks."



Boy, the world sure is a mysterious place to the New York Times.

If President Obama makes a statement that ARRP approves his health care plan
when they have stated that they do not approve of his plan, why would we beleive he is telling us the truth now. He calls all those that do not approve of his agenda as conservative, implying that we are anti American. Our entire constitution has been built on conservative values. We are to have checks and balances. It does not appear that the country we have know and loved is standing on our democratic principles of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness--placed in that order of importance. We want to get back to basics. The government is working for the people. They are elected officials carrying out the values of American people. They are working for us to put into action what the people want not what the President, or their constituants desire. They are serving us not we them.

Nowhere is mentioned the vast bureaucracy they're gonna create to administer their national health care dream. Thousands of drones running around creating red tape. It'll probably suck up fifty percent of every tax dollar it takes in just to fund itself.

I don't understand how Congress and the White House can continue arguing that there was no death panel language in the bill when the Senate Finance Committee just agreed to take it out.

Vivian Shane ... The country "we know and love" is still standing on our democratic principles of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. It's just the current Administration and the current Congress that isn't.

We here in "fly-over country" are more powerful than they think.
