We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Ron Hardin: At the end of Talkin' World War III Blues, Bob Dylan had his own rendition of that famous Lincoln saying.
Well, now time passed and now it seems
Everybody's having them dreams.
Everybody sees themselves walkin' around with no one else.
Half of the people can be part right all of the time,
Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time
I think Abraham Lincoln said that.
"I'll let you be in my dreams if I can be in yours,"
I said that.
If GWB didn't say that, he must have thought it.
He knew as much as anyone that he had to work with an ultra-left congress that was blocking him at every turn and a press openly hostile to him and everything the US stood for (but no longer does of course now that the press's lapdog Obama is in power), thus making sure America would be weak.
