Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Think they are wiser than our Founding Fathers

It is truly Orwellian, and it creeps me out. All these people want is more government power over me. Why anybody would want that is utterly beyond me.

B, you mentioned below that you're now firmly convinced the entire global warming crisis is nothing more than a simple power grab.

Okay, that's bad --really bad when you realize the opportunity cost --including the drilling we'll soon wish the dickens we'd begun years ago. But what i want to get at is the implications of such a conspiracy. To draw such a coalition together, almost all of which coalition surely understands the real play, is outrageous enough that folks should take another look at this entire financial crisis.

his two terms as president, and collected not one
cent of income taxes.
