Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

It's cold outside

It's Climate Change! 


We're all gonna die! Global warming causes global cooling, dummy. All sophisticated, bien pensant folks understand that.


Meanwhile, the supposedly Kyoto-friendly Euros beg for more fossil fuel. We thought they gave it up for Lent forever. Yeah, I know: "That was then, this is now."


And more: I guess it's still too hot in Madison, WI. Isn't it nice that those sanctimonious moonbats are trying to save the world by bossing people around?

Hey, I actually like the looks of that zoning code! It can stand on its own merits rather than having to justify itself by appealing to "climate change."

The busybodies were active and had the city council in my fair town, until the local good guys wiped them out in the last election. Wiped them all out, every last one. My o my would they have loved that Madison zoning proposal. My town is a small college town where Main Street can still fight back. Since I have some land on the edge of the city I am taking advantage of the current situation before the zoning nazis get back in. In my state, once you're zoned, you have what amounts to a property right. I expect to see more and sharper local fights around these issues. Fight Back! Sometimes you can win.
