Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

New England Taxes

We posted the other day about Yankee taxes and our general unfriendliness to business. Liberals and Lefties never seem to wonder where the money comes from for all of their plans and schemes.

Well, in my CT, it's not going to come from these folks, because they made a plan for their families, and they won't let the product of their lifetime of blood, sweat and tears be fleeced by the greedy pols in Hartford.

Are you saying that people don't want to pay taxes and would try to avoid it? Senator Kennedy says that's not true and it's just a coincidence that his trust owns a Fiji based oil company.

This tax report proves the old principle that tax policy should be personal decision neutral. tax incentives and disincentives to motivate behavior are bad policy and bad social engineering.

I like to see people vote their self interest even if only their feet. Even the liberals do it.

I spend most of my time working to support my family and more time figuring out how i can keep the money I earn.Tax avoidance was once viewed as a cardinal social sin...I doubt it is now.
