Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

I work for a State agency. Incan tell you flat out that the Sandy package contained more pork than a pound of bacon.
DeSantis was right to vote against it. It's long overdue that we just simplify our arguments. When somebody suggests you should lower your standard of living and do without, or do with less: First demand leadership by example. If they are not swearing off jet travel, growing their own organic food, forgoing consumption of energy beyond simple humble means, eschewing modern luxuries, but they want you to, then ignore them - and the platforms that give them air time.
They're demanding too much of your attention; accept that this is not hypocrisy. They are well aware that you are the target, they are different, and in the end, they fully expect to have what you don't have. It's not hypocrisy, it's hierarchy. [i]Food is Evil, Energy is Evil, Consumption is Evil, Sterilize your Children.[\i] They're not crazy hypocrites, they're evil. Death Cult. re Climate Activists Attacking Fertiliser Use, Mass Produced Food
I guess Sri Lanka wasn't good enough example for them. It's also interesting that they mention using cattle to produce fertilizer for the land while other environmentalists don't want any cattle due to methane production. They all need to get on the same page. Like emitting CO2, I suspect they have no problem with the rest of the world using chemical fertilizer, it's probably just the Anglosphere and the EU that they have a problem with. Publius Americanus: I work for a State agency. Incan tell you flat out that the Sandy package contained more pork than a pound of bacon.
DeSantis even voted against a $9.7 billion interim bill that merely replenished the National Flood Insurance Program to keep the program going during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Climate activists are determined to build the New Soviet Man. Just like the old New Soviet Man, the main similarity is that there's going to be a lot less of them.
"replenished the National Flood Insurance Program"
That says it all! "Replenished" in Democrat speak means take money from taxpayers and give it to someone else. Lets assume a National Flood Insurance Program is necessary because real insurance companies are too smart to insure homes that they know will be flooded. Why not mimic the incredibly intelligent actual insurance model and charge enough so that the tax payers don't need to "replenish it"??? Why always give freebies??? 100ft Wave's Havoc
Transatlantic liner hit by biggest ever wave; QUOTE: When the ocean liner Empress of France limped into New York some 36 hours late on its journey from Southampton at the beginning of February 1926, it brought with it a startling tale of transatlantic terror. Five days earlier, at 1.30 am on Sunday 31 January 1926, the Canadian Pacific ship had been struck head-on by a 100ft wave — perhaps the biggest wave ever recorded in the Atlantic. “The terrific impact threw passengers out of their berths and ripped heavy winches loose,” said one report. “The sea crashed through the chart-house windows and smashed some porthole windows into scores of pieces. Tons of water rushed into the saloons and the hold.” https://singulardiscoveries.substack.com/p/100ft-waves-havoc?publication_id=365734&post_id=69360062&isFreemail=true Just how smart are raccoons? They’re probably masterminds, study shows

That's right. If there is ever any reason to borrow to cover expenses, it is during an emergency. OneGuy: Why not mimic the incredibly intelligent actual insurance model and charge enough so that the tax payers don't need to "replenish it"??? That wasn't the issue, but whether DeSantis is being hypocritical for asking for federal aid for his red state during an emergency, when he repeatedly voted against providing aid to blue states. feeblemind: They all need to get on the same page.
People don't work that way. "That wasn't the issue"
In your classic bait and switch style you made it the issue. You are like a Democrat labeled house bill; you say one thing but mean the opposite. Lie and deceive, blame the other side, take credit when it isn't deserved, a classic Democrat. Funny the (((Quibble-DickZ))) accusing others of hypocrisy.
That's a good one. Pelosi: Florida Needs Illegal Immigration to Help Farmers Pick cotton!!!
"People don't work that way."
People can and do work that way. Re: Stockman on Ukraine
Remember, for every billion taxpayers give to Ukraine, $10 million comes back in bribes to the children of Biden and other politicians. Don't think of it as a war. Think of it as a means to keep the hookers and blow flowing to Hunter Biden. I feel that if the Slow Food activists were really committed, they would give up food. You know, for the planet.
OneGuy: In your classic bait and switch style you made it the issue.
B. Hammer: “Classic bait and switch.” No. The original post was about alleged "GOP hypocrisy: When DeSantis sought the very relief post-Ian he denied Hurricane Sandy victims". Publius Americanus then stated that "I can tell you flat out that the Sandy package contained more pork than a pound of bacon." DeSantis voted against the small package required to keep the emergency program working even though it was during a major disaster. That's not bait-and-switch but directly relevant to the original post and to Publius Americanus's comment. eeyore: People can and do work that way.
"I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat." — Will Rogers The proper term would be "deflection" by the (((Quibble-DickZ)))..
“LOL, let’s own the Libs”
DeSantis is one of the few in the party willing do to what it takes to beat leftists. If you are not will to wallow in the mud with the murderous, cheating pigs, and get at their level, or even lower, we will never win, let alone maintain the status quo. Just look what has happened the last 50 years. If you are a conservative you have lost everything in that time. Everything. LibDis: murderous, cheating pigs
So your solution to the world's problems is cheating and murder, only worse. (Note that you date the bad from the civil rights era.) "California Decriminalizes Jaywalking Due to Alleged Racial Bias"
So what now? If you are driving in California and you hit someone who is jaywalking whose fault is it? I mean it is clear as daylight that if you are driving your car on the sidewalk and hit someone it is the drivers fault because he should be driving in the street. But now, what's the difference? Isn't the street now a pedestrian walkway? So why have crosswalks? The article mentions "cultural differences. I think what they mean is that blacks and a few other cultures don't obey laws. I agree this is true but when you say it that way isn't that racist? So we are changing the laws because POC don't obey them (which is racist) but if you go any further to explain it, past that boundry of "cultural differences" you should be condemned for being racist. Rape of white women by black men is epidemic and it is because of cultural differences. Can you say that out loud? The media doesn't report it. Why? We have reached a defining moment with Covid vaccines. Some months past many doctors were telling us to take the vaccine simply because the advice that they were getting from "the experts" was that it was vaccine resistance at the heart of the reluctance to take the vaccine and it was the responsibility of doctors everywhere to calm the fears and help the "experts" get a large majority vaccinated to save the world.
Well that theory fell apart months ago. Now we know that Covid was worse among the vaccinated and the strange and here to fore unexpected deaths of healthy young people was a direct result of the vaccine. AND that the growing number of people who survived the vaccine had, never the les, serious and long term side effects from the vaccine some of whom would never recover and probably die young because of those side effects. Now we are in that period where many/most doctors know that they were mislead and in many of those misleading's they also know that the misinformation from experts was intentional and perhaps even with intentional malice. How do they know there was malice? Because the government is now "going after" any doctors who speak up about the harm that the vaccine has caused. Right now, today, if you as a doctor in California speak up about the harm of the vaccine, even in a private conversation, you could lose your license to practice. Why would they do that? At this point it is no secret that the vaccine doesn't work, i.e. it does not prevent the vaccinated from the disease or transmitting the disease. AND we know that the vaccine itself is more dangerous to most people than Covid is/was. So why would government continue down this road especially with such harsh consequences? It goes back to the word "malice". Use another word if that suits you but at some point most of the "experts" knew that the vaccine didn't work and that it was causing deaths and serious permeant health problems and they continued to tell us, demand that we get vaccinated. Why? Some of that motivation was money, some of those demanding that everyone get vaccinated got rich as a result. But not all. It is inexplicable why many of the "experts" continued to insist on vaccination after they knew it was wrong. Why did they do it? If we ever find out it will be in civil court. Yes I know that the vaccine pharmaceuticals are exempt from civil suits but not the so-called "experts". The question remains though, will there be law suits in the future that will expose this criminal wrong doing or not? Begone, mendicant. Your kind destroyed where ever you land.
