We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The political impression is more important than the reality.
That has been true at all times, never more than now. Yet my heart rebels against this, and I have never been able to accept this. I keep thinking that points should be scored, somewhere, somehow, when it is revealed that Alger Hiss and the Rosenbergs really were guilty; that Bill and Hillary Clinton really were guilty of Whitewater, of Filegate, of repeated obstruction; that Bush 43's "terrible" decisions were the same as Clinton's, and Trump's great evils just continuations of Obama's.
Like Puddleglum, I will continue to believe in that world, even when there is no evidence that I can see.

With respect to the president and “collusion,” Mueller does not have a crime he is investigating. He is investigating in hopes of finding a crime, which is a day-and-night different thing.
Wow, it's like the shady persecution out of a bleak film noir; you just can't be too cynical about the Government/Media complex. Maybe it’s just me, or maybe it’s cultural, but I hate sneaky, deceptive, underhanded manipulations. The Gruber-Rhodes mentality permeates the public space.
It’s the Gamesmanship and the Theater that is the tell. Looking back, this is why I didn’t believe that Kavanaugh accuser.
