We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
There were rumors at the time that Riggs had made a ton throwing that match. I have never heard any substantiation, so I have to largely doubt it. However, I don't run in any circles where that information would come to me, and it does sound a lot like Riggs. He had proven his point, the score didn't matter, except symbolically.
It's okay to like women's sports. It's okay to prefer women's sports. It's okay to notice that they teach the same lessons to girls that they do to boys. Yet the reality is that most people aren't all that interested in watching, and you can't make them.

WELL!!!!!11111!!!!! SOMETHING must be done about that. Watching women's sports must be made mandatory!!
