Maggie's Farm

Sipp's post about people looking clear through most of the living space on the first floor of his home is interesting. Though, I am not certain why it intrigues me. Sure, it looks like Sipp is poking a little bit of fun at those people, real or fabricated, who he feels do not approve of his exposed living style. I get that part. And I get the part that he is fine with people looking at his wife and daughter dancing in his living room. Well, to be honest, I almost get it. Near as I can tell, Sipp takes a certain pride in his home and what it contains. Big windows, Victorian style, porch with rocking chairs and so forth. And I think that is just swell, it's nice when people are happy about where they live. But here's the thing and maybe it's just me; but why does Sipp make such a display about it? Because now I wonder if he enjoys watching his neighbors just as much as he likes being watched? Does he get a thrill when his neighbor's dog craps on his front yard? Does he, his wife or daughter occasionally glide past those big windows in a loosely wrapped robe? I mean, how deep does this thing go? I can almost get my head around why some folks display hunting mementos on the walls of their house. I suppose they are proud of shooting those beasts. Maybe trophy heads are a badge of courage even. And I can certainly understand why Mr. Wilson wanted his flowers to be the prettiest in the neighborhood. It's OK to be proud of stuff and I find no harm in nurturing one's ego. But a true Yankee in Yankee land might consider giving it a rest. It's enough already. Plus, your ego might be getting too large if you feel the need to respond to imaginary people rendering imaginary critiques.

About that poor misunderstood Christmas tree and it's garish, inappropriate and offensive display by good old Sarah Palin. Yes, it's a hoot when the silly kids over at MSNBC give lectures about topics they know little to nothing about. But it's an old hoot and pretty much worn out. It's worn out because that is all they ever do over at the MSNBC. On what I think may be a new slant for some, how about that good old Sarah Palin? I appreciate the fact that Sarah upsets the MSNBC crowd. That alone is a great public service. But, just because the loony leftists and the MSM promote Sarah as the national icon of conservatism doesn't make it so. Anyway, it shouldn't be so. Sarah is pretty and she can shoot pretty talking points on a very shallow level. But she doesn't have the in depth command of the issues you really need to be a leader. There, I said it. It's great that she is making tons of money in book and television deals and hopefully she can donate some of it to deserving candidates. What really troubles me most about our dearly beloved Sarah is her posing as something she clearly is not. And I'm talking about her wilderness skills. If you watched her old TV show where she went fishing and hunting and camping and if you are competent at some or all of those things yourself, you know what I'm talking about. Even with editing, it was obvious that she didn't know what she was doing. Sure, her husband Todd has all of those skills. But, I'm afraid Sarah is about as fake as it gets. So, my points are these. First, don't let the left anoint your leaders. Second, don't pick posers to lead you. Posers are always bad for business in the long run.
