We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
For every 100 industrial workers in December 2010, there were 73 “workers” receiving disability payments. Between January 2010 and December 2011, the U.S. economy created 1.73 million nonfarm jobs — but almost half as many (790,000) workers became disability recipients. This trend is not a Great Recession phenomenon: In the 15 years ending in December 2011, the United States added 8.8 million nonfarm private sector jobs — and 4.1 million workers on disability rolls.
Followed the link and the links from there on, but no source is linked to verify the 60 terrorists killed claim. I can easily believe Woods and Doherty got that many in a defensive fight but unsubstantiated reports weaken the case against the administration and do those two hero's no honor.
Even the reports that 10 Libyans died defending the US Consulate don't seem to have any basis other than a Sept 13th comment by a Libyan diplomat stationed at the UN.
Somebody has got the facts about this attack sewed up tighter than a Bull's A******.
At first glance, I thought that picture was some sort of NASCAR event or a rock concert; but the fact that it is a Romney rally speaks volumes about how most Americans feel - we need a change, a real change from what is happening now. That is cool!
Dunno where that number 60 originated --but the two Fox women who've been breaking just about all the news on this case, Catherine Herridge and Jennifer Griffen, have updated reports on the Libyan freighter in the Turkish port, and a firsthand report (this morn, from Griffen) from one of the evacuees that was hearing gunfire from the first building until 4 AM, when the mortars opened up and killed both or the surviving one, of Woods and Doherty.
Woods and Doherty put themselves in that spot on their own volition --and then stayed to cover the evac of 30 someodd otherwise dead civvies. Those two guys did something --it's hard to find words --it was like the two guys in the Blackhawk Down incident, that had themselves dropped onto the first downed chopper and died defending the wounded from waves of enemy rushes.
It's almost beyond belief the disconnect between what those guys did vs what was going on in the WH.
Two lowly soldiers dying to protect a little piece of what the WH was squandering wholesale, and without mussing their hair, let alone getting blown up by mortar fire, after manning machine guns for six hours waiting all the time for some support that never came.
Anyhoo, i came across this last night, it really vibrates nearby the Woods and Doherty story.
And, the base point - no details, no investigative reporting, or even any substantial media coverage. Its like our media have a cloak of darkness over it, diverting attention and notability to other mundane topics.
All the while, the Web are eating their lunch with more exposure and found facts that cast the current Administration dis-favorably.
The truth is there, and will come out, but what is seen now is a travesty and shoddy governance. Time will tell if it ever gets the full play it so rightly deserves.
Obama gets his legacy - at least nobody died in Watergate...
Romney rally speaks volumes about how most Americans feel - we need a change, a real change from what is happening now
Amen to the nines. And let's not forget, that the change (Romney) was utterly and often smeared, in the days after the attacks, by the Obama campaign's leading lights, incl POTUS hisself, for having made some sort of comment on the attacks. Attempting to weld Romney's name to their own ugly handiwork.
