We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
A superb selection of links, big guy. The one on the scientific consensi was excellent, as was the one on the G-20. I was expecting more fun demonstrator videos and instead got treated to a real inside look at the European disaster. Not as bloody, certainly, but more informative.
I suggest they hold the next G-20 in Phoenix.
As far as the female Russkie spy goes,
"A red-headed femme fatale is among-"
I think somebody needs to look up the definition of "red". Assuming the color in the photo is accurate, that's as chestnut as it gets. Maybe they were thinking ideologically?
"A Red femme fatale is among-"
There we go.
And the one on Michael Mann was a Laff Riot. What a weasel. He conveniently forgot to mention the REASON the hockey stick graph shouldn't have been used as an 'icon' -- because it left out the Medieval Warming Period! Throw that in and poof! No more 'hockey stick', no more lucrative research grants.
Dr. Merc ... Michael Mann not only "conveniently forgot" the Medieval Warming Period, he carelessly omitted the Little Ice Age that is associated with it. If I were teaching Computer 101 [now there's a thought!] I would have flunked him -- or don't they even do that nowadays.?
I've never understood why people believe consensus has anything to do with science. Consensus has to do with politics. Scientific consensus is just politics masquerading as science, i.e. pseudo science.
