We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Another tactic that's worked well for me is something I used to use with religious proselytizers who came to my home. I'd say, "I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I don't discuss religion with people I don't know extremely well." The same can go for sex, politics, and a lot of other issues. Or there's always my favorite Miss Manners advice: smile politely and ask, "How soon do you need to know?"
Apparently there's lots of stuff wrong at the University of Delaware. State universities are supposed, by definition, to be for all the people of the state, not just for the moonbat academics hiding from the harsh realities of the real world who try to indoctrinate the young with their silly secular religion. Time for the young and able of the student body to organize a march on the administration to indicate their displeasure with this constellation of crap being foisted on them.
