We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Chrysler CEO Bob Nardelli got himself paid about 200 million bucks running Home Depot's stock into the ground. Now as CEO of Cerberus owned Chrysler he is in Washington with hat in hand talking about how we can't afford to let workers lose their jobs...How ironic. Also, I was thinking that our major airlines go through bankruptcies like the rest of us change shirts. They re-organize and never even close their doors...Why are the auto-makers different?
Good point about the airlines, Scott. They wear out the aluminum on the vertical changing their logos so often.
It's not only madness but a disgrace. That someone like Nardelli is allowed to show his face in public. That such incompetency is not only allowed but encouraged by corporate boards is nothing short of crimalnality... foisted on the stockholders.
Maybe the O will hire Spitzer as AG... let him loose on this type of malfeasance. Just joking of course. Though in a way I kind of like the idea.
Hey... I love the idea of hiring Spitzer. He's off all charges - I don't know how, and of course he'll find something to do. But he was no one's fool when it came to bringing the high and mighty down. I always liked him for his nerve and was sorry about his behind-the-scenes activities.
