BD's Gateway link has a link to the 527 ad running in all of the swing states this week-end and into E-Day. I understand they raised $6 million to run these and are matching Obama ad for ad in the swing states from now until E-Day. Check out this piece of high performance art, it is worthy of an Emmy for "Best Campaign Spot of 2008"!

It's just a 30 second rapid fire spot but has some real punch in the message, the only one you want to deliver now: Obama= Risky. Haven't we had enough of "risky" the past few months?! They've boiled the whole campaign down to this spot- I love the creativity of these guys who put together the 527 ads! I think it was Dick Morris or some other campaign guru who said if you can't boil it down to go on a bumper sticker then it needs further editing!

I was beginning to wonder where the 527's were hiding this time but they've been wisely keeping their powder dry until we're down to E-Day minus 3 or 4, when folks are really tuned in. These pro's know from past experience that now is the time to pour it on, when the undecideds have to make a decision! Haven't heard anything more about Bush, have you??!! No, the only issue now is Obama, just as it should be.

It is campaign gospel that THE cardinal sin of sins is to peak too early. I think the Mc Palin Campaign has played this one just right and have grabbed the big mo' entering the final week-end and run-up to E-Day. It's like sitting on the Esplanade on the 4th as the Pops builds to the crescendo finale of the 1812 Overture, closely followed by the cannonade and the church bells ringing, the cannonade being the 527 ads and the church bells pealing being victory on E-Night.

I look at E-Day minus 3 or 4 as the command performance finale of every Presidential election. McCain-Palin can close on the high road with inspirational messages of growth, prosperity, and freedom and let the 527's do their in- fighting on the telly. The O campaign is clearly on the defensive now and that is where McPalin wants them. In sports, it's called the momentum shift, and McPalin has it in the 4th quarter, one minute left on the clock, 1st and goal on the 5 in a tie game, and a field goal will win it. This could actually be fun if our future didn't ride on the outcome.

Yes, each movement could compare to the McPalin Campaign to date. The gloomy early going symbolized by the weak strains of the Czarist national anthem, uncertainty and tenativeness through much of the piece, with gradual brigthening and strength as it moves toward the finale, the brief strains of the Marseillaise with it's hopes of Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite delivered by Napoleon's attack in the background, then the Czarist anthem rising to drown it out as Napoleon is turned back, and building to the crescendo finale. I hope they are playing this masterpiece for inspiration at McPalin HQ over the week-end- I am!
