Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Buffet on the economy

Oct 1, with Charlie Rose. It's long, but he is always worth listening to, especially since, as Kudlow terms it, "the economy fell off a cliff in September." This election, now, is about the economy - period. Neither Pres candidate is able to speak intelligently or knowledgeably about it, and Sarah Palin is the only of the 4 who has ever worked in the real world.

Derivatives are weapons of mass destruction. Warren said that, and he is 100% correct. I don't trust this guy, Hell I don't trust anyone. He's a vulture ready to prey off a dead carcas. There will be more bailouts to come. We are putting band aids on a severed artery, or throwing pennies at a quadrillion dollar problem. More pain is coming down the road. The bailout just buys time to get us through the election.

Yes, he does believe in buy low, sell high. Who does not?

However, jappy's instincts are right to not trust Buffet. He is on the socialist bandwagon for reasons I cannot fathom. Especially since Buffet's life is a testament to capitalism.

There goes retirement. SS will be broke and our own savings (can I still say "our savings" or will that be part of the "change" to come?) will be decimated by the inflation that comes from Government printing money to spend their way out of debt.
