We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
"If someone wrote in the back of your yearbook, 'You can be whatever you want to be,' that was really dumb because you can't be a fish. It is just not going to work out for you."
huh. Maybe there should be a thread on the dumb things you (I) wrote such as: "To live is for today. To die is forever." Which ahem I am sorry to say was my high school senior quote from so long ago, immortalized for everyone to dissect until the end of that HS yearbook. Amazing that quote has embarrassed my memory so much I still remember it from 37 years ago. Arrogant? Pompous? Or just something that some 17 year old kid thought was lofty sounding enough to be stuck in the pages of forever.
