Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

She says aloud, “Dear all powerful and merciful God please find me a place to park - I’ll do anything for you.” As she finishes praying, a space opens up and she says, “Never mind - I found one."

I distinctly remember the first time I questioned my belief in God. I was at a high school football game when our team gathered in the middle of the field and knelt down and prayed. I asked one of the players what they prayed for, and he said, as if I were stupid, "We pray to win." My immediate thought was that in essence they also prayed the other team would lose. My Christian belief system took a bad hit on that.

That's funny.
Praying doesn't mean it's God's will. It's good to pray for what you want. In the end, tho, it's not our will, so that's what we always pray for.

Sarah P. says to pray to be aligned with God, and that is my theory too.

BD ... Sarah Palin is a very smart lady, able to rise above the shameful lies being told about her by the MSM and the enraged Steinem-feminists, who don't admit that feminism has been around since way before they were born -- and in a much more respectable form, too.
