Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

This is the letter I sent to my Senator:

Dear Gordon-

The vast majority of Americans play by the rules, work hard, and want to enjoy the fruits of their honest labor. Why should these good honest folks be held accountable for the dealings of crooked gambling bankers? And further, why should people who make $50k a year have to pay so much to save those who make $50million a year? Does this seem fair?

Do Not vote yes on the bailout! Never before has the government wanted to take so much from so many for the benefit of so few. This bailout is nothing more than welfare for the rich, and you know it.

They have asked for an unlimited amount, with zero oversight, to benefit the bankers who have gambled away our future. Do not enable the gamblers and hand us the bill.

Snork! Great. I just put a mouth full of lunch through my nose. Dancing and singing stormtroopers does that to me.

Thanks for the clip. I always liked Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder (when he isn't shouting)
