We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Sipp on politics: All politics is the prayer for a deus ex machina. Yes, always. Do not look to those jokers for your life's salvation. Mankind will never be ready for democracy, or dictatorship either.
Dems have no respect for regular Americans. That is true. I am a regular American, neither elite nor a victim, and not interested in being either. I guess that makes me a Repub.
Absolutely. I've started an article on this many times, but it just makes me too angry. I may have gone to grad school and gone into academia, but I am what I am. Raised in a deeply conservative rural area, taken to Mass every week, taught morals and standards of behavior, and to stand up on my own two feet. The condescension of liberals has always been my hottest hot button. I can sit quietly and listen to all sorts of gasbaggery, but the arrogant put downs of Americans, that I have never been able to listen to. Either I leave, or I explode. I have done both far too many times. You hear it almost daily on campus. Okay, my blood pressure is skyrocketing. I think I'm done with this.
