Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

If only Putin listened to Obama

Why can't we all just get along? Russian tanks invade Georgia.

Where's the UN? Where's love, peace and hope? Guess what? For better or worse, the world is not populated with Oregon hippie-dippie moonbats. We do not live in a fairy tale. McCain already has a comment.

Georgia was screwed either way. If they didn't try to assert control over their sovereign territory and let the Russians occupy it indefinitely, they would lose it eventually. The Germans and French would never allow them into NATO while the Russians were causing trouble.

By fighting the Russians, Saakashvili is trying to escape Russian domination and eventually win membership in NATO.

Georgia isn’t perfect, but it’s a hell of a lot better than Russia. They also had the 3rd largest foreign force in Iraq – the brigade has just been recalled to Georgia post haste.

Russians weren't occuping South Ossetia.

Saaskashvili is trying to draw NATO into his dirty little war.

He's going down, me thinks.

NATO needs to pull the boys chain or terminate him for aggravating the situation.

Russian peacekeepers are not occupiers.

Georgians attacked like Muslims and ran like girls.

Good thing Georgian peacekeepers were taken out of harms way in Iraq.

Israelis need to spend more time training the ladies, before they encourage them to start another six day war in anticipation of the calvary coming to their defense.

I hope, Georgian's learned this lesson well and get rid of the coward, Saakashvili .
