We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I think "dead" might be a bit premature, as long as the MSM is pushing more AGW articles at us than ever. Last week it was kidney stones, this week it's the expected cat population booming. The only reason they're slowing down is because they're running out of new things to blame it on. But if there's a problem in the world, AGW is still the probable culprit.
And I sure hope Julia Roberts sued the hell out of Vanity Fair for that chestless skag they portrayed as her on the cover. Compare her to the airbrushed and toned male figures. Ten bucks says Julia dissed V.F. one day and it was payback time.
Note to Vanity Fair: It's "under water", not "underwater", you illiterate boobs.
In Canada, one of our national broadcasters (CTV) is still maintaining that Arctic ice is disapperaing and will be completely gone this summer. Observation, via satellite images, shows a pretty healthy polar ice cap at the top of the marble. They don't care whether its true or not, it just keeps the public riled up until something meatier comes along.
Another of our broadcasters (Global) did a series in early June about the Inuit people worrying about the ice breakup and left viewers with the impression that they, the Inuit, used to trek around on the shore-ice year round, never seen open water before kind of stuff. I thought that the Inuit invented the kayak - a particularily poor vehicle for travelling over ice, I must be mistaken.
We have heard from our local left-wing member of parliament that our local glacier is withering away. Photographic evidence from 100 years ago would put that conclusion to question.
Expect more and more medical conditions to be touted as evidence of AGW. I'm sure that some link (however tenuos) can be made between AGW and;
