Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Some Obama links

Obama say's he'll remove the wage ceiling for Social Security taxes (without increasing benefits). What states' workers get hit hardest? 

I read the WaPo Sunday editorial about winning the war in Iraq, but I just noticed the last line: "Now he (Obama) needs a plan for success." Don't count on it: the Left has much invested in American weakness and failure.

And if either one somehow does manage to get elected in spite of all the bigotry, that will nonetheless be a sign that the federal government needs to redouble its efforts to extirpate whatever bigotry is still out there.
