Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Yup that's me " getting paid little or nothing for one's work"I prefer to be labled as a Economic Transfer Agent, working my little muffin ass off, to give what small pittance I earn back to my beloved, nobel, and wise leaders in Govt. They are really good at what they do, takin my stuff away. They really care about me, so long as I be contributing my little pittance.
I'll keep an eye out for the 'shocking' Michelle Obama post (supposed to be posted by 9 am) and will do an official post about it if it's actually juicy, but I'm with Ace (and others) on this one. Most likely it's bullshit. On the other hand, it's a helluva boast to make if it is.
Good Morning Habu!
Hey, it might not be Maggie's dropping your links. The links you used are still live, so the webmasters haven't blocked hotlinking to their sites. BUT they may have denied Maggie's IP address to break the links. It's a limited counter measure to hotlinking which doesn't require limiting hotlinking to all but a few select domains. If Joe Blows' anydomain.com hotlinks an image but recieves zero traffic, Joe's happy and he'll be return traffic, but if Maggie's links and they have a lot of traffic then it's a bandwidth problem. So yeah, it could be Maggie's. But it might not be, too. Jeese, I'm such a cherry! I keep getting these things wrong, wrong, wrong.
I read the Vanity article last night about What's going on with Bill Clinton. I thought it was a fairly comprehensive article but that's really kind of ridiculous since I have absolutely nothing to know if it is or not...but then when does reality play a part in things today?
My sister had heart bypass surgery but she never went through the depression thing. She also never had Bill's oversized ego. I i had to guess the source of his frustration I'd guess a few things. - certainly depression of some degree - the fast company no doubt has cocaine in abundance and Bill liked his coke - he's now on heart meds and knowing a few friends who are on them I'd say it's good bye to Mr. Johnson every standing rigidly at attention again..that and Mr. Johnson is in his 60's, not a world ending event but add in some libido killing and anti stiffining drugs and MR "I'm A Real Hound" on the hunt guy like Bill can't be all that he once was....and for a sexually driven guy like Bill to see his big buddy with a knock ou 18 year old that he can't even think about doing cause he can't ..well that's a killer and depressing. Looks like he's just gonna be an old deflated tired guy with no influence and a vacant life. Hell, that would droop any hound dog's ears. Glad I don't have to deal with it.
Apparently it has taken Bill C now time at all to respond to the Vanity Fair article with a scathing retort. I do not believe it involve a whoopee cushion under the author chair however.
Clinton attacks Vanity Fair The Clinton camp responded today to Vanity Fair's long article on Bill with its own 2,476-word memo, which includes attacks on the magazine's "penchant for libel," on editor Graydon Carter, and on writer Todd Purdum and his wife, former Clinton aide Dee Dee Myers more Bills response xx When Michelle rants about whitey she's refering to her husband, me thinks.
Tolerance is a hard pill to swallow for black folks. I imagine your right. Knowing as they do that back in Mother Africa their brothers and sisters who originally sold their brothers and sisters into the slavery used by Europeans and then in America are still on the very active end of slave trade TODAY.
Why, I have often asked, if they feel such anger toward slavery and what they say are the unjust fruits of it's usage then why don't they remove the hyphen, return to aAfrica and restore freedom to their ouwn brothers and sister they profess so much love for? Money..they can't shake down a bankrupt country and all of the African nation are either bankrupt or living on the world's welfare. Blacks are the quintessential hypocrites of our time. There are a**hole blacks just like there are a**hole whites.
I'm willing to give a significant measure of grace to a community that's had so much grief and horror dumped upon it. If Grand-dad was strapped to a tree and beat to death with a stick in front of his kids for the crime of being of a different skin color, well, I'd be pissed-off, too, especially if I saw people of my color getting pissed on all too frequently throughout my life. The "Reverend" Wrights of the world are racist filth, and I am not his cracker or whitey. The progressive/Marxist stupidity he pumps out about oppressors and the oppressed pisses me off, but I'm not going to overlook the complexities of a community that has suffered so much because of it. Almost any statement that begins with "All whites are..." is asinine, as are almost any statement that begin with "All blacks are..." Fixing something this broke isn't easy--the racial divide--but lazy thinking from blacks or whites won't help fix. Here are my bona fides (in case you were wondering): I have worked for blacks; I have worked with blacks; I have done business with blacks; I have lived in communities where I was a minority; I have black friends; I have black friends who are oh-my-god smarter than me; I have black friends who are better educated than me (and they would be if I were much better educated, as well). Jep,
I agree with what you say but 618,000 people died in the Civil War, a good many of them to free the slaves. That was quite some time ago. No one living today owns a slave. The whites paid in blood for blacks freedom, and still they can't let it go. Anyway BD is gonna ban me very soon, perhaps any moment ..maybe I'll see some of you over at The American Thinker ..but a few threads up BD simply told me to shut the F-up or I'd be ban .. I didn't shut up so I'll say goodbye if I disappear (if you dare) Please let Buddy know , I've blogged with him for 2-3 years. He's a great guy. And you, you're a principled upright guy who says what he means and means what he says..good on ya. Above all stay healthy and love your family. Just as an aside I spent two summers in college in the 60's working for the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) in Tampa for free. I been to the mountain too. Best, H That, so much grief and horror dumped upon it, is good reason for black folks to have a tough time swallowing the pill.
I, also, have had many standup black folks in my experience, some in the most violent of situations. I agree with ya that some can swallow the pill but, me thinks, Hussein's Michelle isn't one of them. I wager she does call him, Whitey, though. H, I hope you guys can work out your stuff here.
Leag, I'm with you on Michelle O. Just expect the worst from here... you'll be fine. As long as you toe the line.
Luther, I'm not following you... Are you refering to MO or racism?
Neither. Just making a very bad joke, in remembering H's admonition is all. Apologies, it wasn't really directed at you.
