We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Laughing about theft on a large and small scale. But it's for art and socialism, right?
Whenever I see photos and video of Cuba, I'm particularly struck about how unkempt it is - buildings falling down, plants growing in the sidewalks, etc. If there's no ownership, I guess there's no motivation to keep things up.
All in all, a very interesting piece - thanks for linking it.
I take it the Carpenteros (sp?) were comprised of the three people in the photo's. The black guy was left out of the interviews. They just interviewed the two good looking white guys. I wonder why. I hear there is alot of discrimination against blacks in Cuba.
