We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
A step in the right direction, though. Police states like China and Cuba love to keep their subjects poor, stupid, and insulated from outside ideas and information.
TMI might confuse their tiny brains, you know? They do not trust the good sense of their people to make up their own minds about life. On some level, they view "the people" as their enemy. That is paranoid - and evil.
Regular people are farm animals to them, and nothing more than fodder for The State.
Bravo on using the word "evil". That's the word for it alright. Just isolating the internet issue -- to deny the young access to the world's information store is to cripple and imprison them, simply to make it easier for a small gang of criminals to use them as farm animals and hostages. American lefties point to the free services and see Castro as 'controversial'. American lefties are apparently too economically ignorant to understand that those services are the farthest thing from 'free', being bought with the people's stolen labor at such a cost that, after military expenses necessary to keep the gang in power, there's so little left over that those lucky people who get those wonderful free services are somehow nevertheless busted, miserable, drunk, sick, and dying to escape.
