Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

BHusseinO ain't black, so black folks will not bolt the Dems.
He sealed the fact that he ain't black for thosew who thought he is came when he dumped his black preacher and his oreo self became apparent to all. He has proved just can't hang but all the better for black folks, that they get the unveiling of the magic negro, now. The Obama/Clinton contest will tear the party apart. The empty headed, 'feel good' folks are going Obama's way while the party hacks are mainly behind Ms Rodham. Blacks on the ideological plantation are confused and getting disgusted. It's a beautiful thing.
Leag,
The dumping of the sinister Mr. Wright was a hoax, a sham, a gaming of the system between BHO and the Wright brother. BHO needed to retard the cratering effect to his WH run created by Wright so they wound up Wright in his full passion on TV and that allowed BHO to cry foul, but notice with no damning condemnation or permanent break. It worked beautifully and they knew it would with a press corps ready to hit the cotton fields en mass to work for Barry. Don't get conned Leag. I suggest, yall don't con yall'self.
Hussein ain't black and never was. He said he would never dump Wright , anymore than he would his grandma . Is granny next? Think Pelosi's answer to what to do about the high price of gas comes down to "whatever". She has no clue. Her real interests seem to lie elsewhere, maybe with the carbon traders new fangled commodity market. Be sure to thank your legislators folks. The carbon bubble is not going to give anybody any gas except the churning kind one gets in the pit of ones stomach. Hopefully this election will help give Pelosi and the rest of the Congress some real focus on some real issues, like helping the people who put their lives and their money on the line in the oil and gas industry to deliver a product that imho, is the life blood of the country and the economy. People do not mind paying real costs. It is all the extra added costs (that are being legislated) that are the problem right now.
Patina,
Did you by chance read Pelosi's answer to a reporter's question about that? Hot Air had it up. It is so excrutiatingly embarrassing your jaw just drops. The woman is an idiot! I was unaware that being loquacious is a quality one attributes to rudeness.
The unfailing curative for you is to simple quit reading my offerings and I promise you I will do the same. You are now a non person. Quite neat ,effective, and like you, simple. Even Rufus got the point, though it evidently evaded you. And could the level of insult be elevated? More is expected from an educated man.
The Incoherence of Nancy Pelosi
There is nothing incoherent about Nancy and the Socialist Democrats she leads. Most of you are thinking in terms of free markets, representative government, and the personal freedoms we have managed to hang on to in the face of FDR's all out assault on capitalism. Pelosi et.al. are simply the ideological children of FDR, Marx, Hegel, and the atheism of Ludwig Andreas von Feuerbach who influenced them all. The Democrats want a Marxist Socialist state where the means of production etc. etc. are owned and controlled by the government and it's bureaucracy, not private shareholders and equity companies. Therefore it is in their interest to continue to create the atmosphere of fear, the distrust of corporations and convince the common man, the proletariat that their only savior is allowing the nanny state to provide all. To do that , the few need to have all the power. They've almost accomplished their goal. It's not incoherent in the least. The entire Democratic leadership buys into this philosophy. Good luck to the rest of us if they win big in November because it could easily spark a revolution in this country. It will happen when they outlaw private ownership of guns. Great analysis. A study in unconventional thinking which is quite refreshing and appreciated. Not to mention correct. Nice job.
Let's just hope it fails at the polls. This has got to be very conflicting for the liberals like Northwestern U. On the plus side:
He's African American He's Marxist The negative: He's hurting Barry's chances He's preaching a racist message...but, but can an African American really be racist by definition???? Oh the horrors...what to do, what to do. If the public rejection of his prodigy wasn't enough, now he's being snubbed by the very academics that can't normally get enough of this garbage. His head is going to explode. I'm also waiting for Mrs. Obama's head to explode as well. Should be fun in a perverse kind of way. So when is the academy going to fire Bill Ayers? Congress will reconsider their Ethanol plans.
I have read on occasion a most loquacious chap with a name that conjures up rather large nostrils, oh yes, a gentleman Rufus. This Congress/Ethanol peek is not going to go down well with him I'd wager. Congress will see the increased costs of producing and transporting the ethanol and thus will end another experiment in error. I'm confident a mountain of evidence he might produce to the contrary with Green Peace recently endorsing nuclear energy Congress will streamline that regulatory process and put money behind what it should have been behind for the past thirty five years. Nuclear energy. "...a most loquacious chap with a name that conjures up rather large nostrils, oh yes, a gentleman Rufus."
HABU - Stop the rudeness. You're not fooling anyone. We need to start drilling for oil - now
I would say since we can't go back in time to when we should have started drilling, then NOW is the best we can do. The Democrats are simply waiting for a totally dominant Congress and WH. With a filibuster proof Senate the Democrats will nationalize the oil industry, nuclear industry, and in the end all sources of energy so that they can fairly control the means and distribution of energy output for the welfare and national security of the nation. The Democrats will begin to use the phrase economic democracy to explain their plan. Most knowledgeable political scientists call it Marxism.
Just Google "Economic democracy" and get an idea of what we're in for if the Dems get a bullet proof government.
Economic democracy: What's mine is mine, and what's your is mine.
I googled economic democracy. Incredible but you can see it developing already.
The American Thinker poses this question.
If Obama loses Nomination, will Blacks Stay Home? No, they will riot. I never really 'got' Starbucks either. The products are, by and large, of good quality, but at the end of the day, it's just a cup of coffee. I guess there was room in this world for MORE and (often) better coffee, and they filled a high-end niche. But now that niche looks full. Frankly, I am (and have been) surprised they did as well as they did. In hindsight, I attribute that to their just being more assertive than their more earthbound competitors (Chock Full o' Nuts, Dunkin Donuts, mom & pop coffee shops, etc.). McDonalds was the same way, expanding creatively and aggressively, but McDonalds sells more kinds of food.
I think Panera bread has more upside than any 'fast food' chain right now. But the whole food business top to bottom is so difficult and fickle. I just could not but an investment dollar in any food franchise unless they showed me they REALLY had something different and special. The genious of Starbucks was convincing a lot of people to pay high prices for crap coffee. They tried to overcome mediocre beans with over roasting and then tell everyone burnt coffee is good.
