Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

I am no expert on coffins, but I never got the point of being embalmed (which is gross - they suck your blood out and then pump formaldehyde in) and dumped in a fancy polished piece of furniture which is then put inside a cement and/or steel vault. I don't know how we got to that. Anyway, in England they now have "Green" coffins, at ecoffins.

Speaker Pelosi's paraphrase sounds more like one from quran.

In quran, jihad (I don't work for State Department) is form of worship, too, along with honoring one's camel and avoiding capers.

related to Pelosi's gaffe, someone email instapundit re Dem's complaints about an ad in NC:

"It seems that this is just a continuation of the Democrats' hysterical "Don't question our patriotism" nonsense of the past few years. Don't question their patriotism, don't question their economic policies, don't question their tax policies, don't question their record in office, don't question their character, don't question their shady business and political deaings, don't question, period. Will the GOP be chicken enough to obey? Probably."
