Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Speaking of visual sexual aggression, a new law has passed in Maine, making it a felony to look at minors in a 'sexualy aggressive way'. I'm all for trying to protect minors from sexual preditors, but this opens the door for abuse. How the heck can anyone tell who someone is looking at and what there mental intent is. Ex: My neighbor, who I never got along with, has been ogling my 10 yr old son. Seems like a good way to ruin someones life and get even for past grievences.

Who's the 'we' BD... the blog, the people, not the legislature, they already passed it. It might be useful in certain situations... but those situations need to be clearly delineated.
