Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

As long as we are posting links, may I suggest that anyone considering the possibility of voting for Hillary take a look at what other female "leaders" are saying about their own country:
http://mcj.bloghorn.com/ another current item -- It's Medal of Honor Day:
http://tinyurl.com/34a437 catch link @ bottom of this The Corner post -- Interesting 'successful living too long?' link. Just heard a FoxBiz interview with an MD touting his recent experiment, where volunteers were exposed to common cold virus, after answering question "did your parents own the home you grew up in?".
Long/short, yes, strong correalation between income and immune system. Doc's conclusion: healthier folks make more money, so we need more federal medical care so that poorer people can raise their incomes. My conclusion, go-getters, by nature OR nurture, will succeed at personal care as well as other facets of their lives. Not incompatible, I suppose. But I did pat my wallet while the doc was talking -- making sure it was still there in my back pocket -- Minor point to the whole, but everyone in this country gets shots: many get them for free. That takes care of the immunity claim.
As for the rest, being productive and part of the 'team' is one of the healthiest things a person can do for themselves. Get a job. Agree with you, Buddy. Oh, as well, jobs have health benefits. lessee, a slingshot, a top, a whistle, three marbles, a few bubble gum wrappers, and my Mickey Mantle baseball card--
traded it for a horn for my bike -- one o them with a rubber bulb you squeeze to make it toot
From a link on Tuesday, RE: Clintons
"The Tonya Harding Option -- the first time I've heard it put that way. It implies that Clinton is so set on ensuring that Obama doesn't get the nomination, not only is she willing to take extra-ruthless steps, but in the end neither she nor Obama win the gold. (In this metaphor, presumably, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., would be Oksana Baiul. Does that make former President Bill Clinton Jeff Gillooly?)" I love this. I was here when Tanya had her day. She still makes the news now and then for crashing her truck or shooting at stuff in her yard. I still think she just needed the right man, ahem, to set her straight and, um, expose the talent that she truly possessed. Shame that- but tramps is tramps (why we like them).Comparing Hilly to Tanya is also a shame. We all know who the better woman is and it happens to be the one that would win the cage match between the two. (hint- Hilly's too old for fisticuffs) That's funny Phil... I lived there during the Tonya odysseys. Knew one guy who thought she was the cat's meow. That fight wouldn't be much of a match... even allowing for Hillary's age. Tonya would rip her a new one I'm sure.
Thanks for reminder of MOH day Buddy... I paused for a moment of respect. AP... Amazing how folks can be so deluded as that woman. Though I know the reasons why I still can't understand it. Good link mal... though I'm only half way through that long article. I hope Dollard gets that film made and that it makes a difference. He would be a most interesting person to hang around with for a few days. Yes BD... could be. Hunter would have been interesting as well... though I of course think that Dollard is a more positive force in the world... at this particular moment.
ha ha..... The second I read Tonya Harding, I got an image of Hillary breaking Obama's legs and then kicking him when he was down. .............. I want to continue with images of Hillary riding in the backseat of a police car, but I have to go watch Brit so I can see Charles.
hume & krauthammer, that is. swimmin pools, movie stars
As Hill wouldn't stand a chance against Tonya... Obama wouldn't stand a chance against Hilliary... or anyone else that I can see. A most metro sexual man is he. Did he ever suffer a schoolyard fight, I wonder. Ever raise a fist in anger.
aww sh___--somebody stole the little metal bell ringer off of my cul de sac bike! Geez Louise--wonder why they didn't take the little wicker basket?
aww sh___-- Anon... so sorry you feel neglected...but the brutal truth... perhaps they don't care for wicker.
"I'll steal the bell but not the wicker," thought the thief, with a smirk and snicker.
Sorry, but the computer put in "anonymous"--I am the one with the missing bell ringer! Maybe buddy will come with his sling shot and have a go at em! ;-)
i'll pop 'em real good for ya, AP! right in the butt with a nice quarter-inch ball bearing -- Thwack!
