Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

"...why did they move out of my neighborhood?"
Because the federal "war on black families" programs worked so well. What we need is something comprabable to this camera, however it must be a video cam. Something we can do video conferencing with on an Apple. Any suggestions?
There has certainly been an avalanche of coverage on the Obama's "Sermon to Save My Ass". But the article in this thread mentioned that many of the things he spoke needed to be brought to light.
It was the second sentence that caught my eye: He raised a lot of issues that merit much discussion that is long overdue. For that he is to be applauded . Baloney This is in fact not very accurate even if we acknowledge the full context of the remainder of the paragraph. "He raised a lot of issues that merit much discussion that is long overdue. For that he is to be applauded. He spoke of issues long stifled by leftists and progressives who eschew any kind of discussion on matters that they believe they ‘own,’ and in fact, he made clear his beliefs that must have horrified his leftist agendistas. America is the only nation in the world where a story like his is possible." The race discussion has been front and center since this country was founded, The three fifths compromise and down through a litany of issues. A civil war. A Great Society. Conservatives and liberal socialists have debated every facet of the black community. Debated the trillions , yes trillions of our wealth we have redistributed to that demographic and we still debate the merits of our designs. We do know a few things however. Conservative thought and scholarship is evil and bigoted and liberal socialist thought is enlightened and "progressive". It took that type of progressive thought to pass the Civil Rights Act(s) and enough other helpful legislation to completely destroy the black family. Now that's progressive and enlightened. We know that marginal blacks are elevated beyond all reason for the sake of producing "role" models for black youth. Jeremiah Wright is just one in a long unbroken line of blacks who have attained stature without merit. When a black role model such as Bill Cosby ,Shelby Steele, Thomas Sowell, and a band of truly intelligent blacks begin to tell it like it is, they are castigated beyond belief. One look no further than the treatment given Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, raised poor, no $100 tennis shoes, no shoes at all, no help, to see what a grip the black-ghetto-blame-whitey mentality has on the black population and their Democratic Socialist Party plantation overseers. Barack Obama is just the next N-person in line to want "Whitey" held to pay for the sins of all mankind. He's just a bit slicker, knows the game, but as we now see is just another cheaper huckster. If he ever gets "the Power" it won't be held for long. It is only through the benevolence of White America that Negro America has what they have. There have been too many generations since Brown v. Board for African Americans to continue to wallow in their self pity and rage over wrongs inflicted going back 150 years. The onus is on their culture which consistently choses "leaders" like Jeremiah Wright and Al Sharpton and eschews the Thomas Sowells and Clarence Thomas'. The content of the character of Barack Obama has failed to measure up to the oleaginous promises he utters. He is a fraud. Everyone continues to say we, as a country, need to speak about race, but I really don't know what we would talk about. The rev. spoke of the killing of black men, but most were killed by other black men. He also decried the lack of good schools and a broken educational system, but aren't most black kids who excell accused of trying to be white? These are only a couple of examples that the black community can change for themselves to make life alot better. The same can be said about the number of men in jail. Quit commiting crimes. If you can sell dope, I'm pretty sure you could put those talents to work selling something legal.
One thing is for sure: Obama is NOT bringing people together.
There will be riots. well in that case, the rioters and the cops will be brought together.
Maybe, maybe not. In the Rodney King riots the cops simply cordon off the area an let chaos reign. Remember the Koreans having to use auto weapons to defend their stores?
The cops just do paperwork, they don't interfere in "public protests"...it'll be color coded profiling and bang bang....wear a mask cause they will have they will have cameras rolling in the sky. Gain a high perch and do some selective culling. No need to get down street level..but do have at least two escape routes, including having your roof egress close to a manhole ...yeah it stinks but it beats dead by a mile. Nautical smoke grenades are great for concealing a getaway. Some put out enormous volumes of white smoke. A few well placed tannerite cannisters are also great for diversion. I have some on my property for just that reason. Sometimes all you need is a seconds advantage and game ,set, match to you. http://www.tannerite.com/ Buddy,
In your case just stampede the cattle through town and head for the arroyo. There's probably a secret Indian cave somewhere nearby all the kids us to party in, gotta be. Jeff Cooper wrote about riot control. He thought a good tactic would be to use snipers with 22s to wing the leaders. Not to kill but "nobody likes to be shot- even with a 22" and without the inciters the mob might not get to full riot volume.
I think the Korean solution works better. By the time shooting comes to mind "don't play just kill" is the rule. Phil,
That has always been my philosophy. If you're in a situation where you've drawn your gun it should be, in your mind, a life threatening situation, so shoot to kill. I was in Vietnam on a special CIA mission up until two days before the Embassy fell in April 1975. There was looting , chaos , and there I was a big American target ...a bit of an adrenaline rush for the five day mission. Fortunately I'd been in and out of Saigon many times before and had Air America at my disposal also for my bug out. But when it gets ugly you have to remain calm (yeah like that's possible) but be a killer if need be. There's not such thing as surviving unprepared. Most Americans are totally unprepared for a riot of days or weeks or a general breakdown in society. Maybe dads got a 12 gauge in the house with one box of ammo, no extra food but whats in the house, and a half tank of gas in the car...whats he gonna do when the gangs show up looting? The college kids stressed out and the following comment are priceless ....wait til they try the real world....
Perspective is something you can't gain by playing a video game or just simply being young. You've got to navigate the through the real world for at least ten years following college to even begin to put it all together. Some people never do. I wonder if the college kids think their peers in Iraq and Afghanistan feel any stress...think maybe a bit? ( well actually they probably don't give the servicemen and women any thought at all) I don't know what the figures are but I'd say 98% of those "stressed out" college kids never get near a firefight or watch a buddy dying from a sucking chest wound. But the thought of a test has them wetting their pants...truly pathetic. The link to the "fun part of war" always reminds me of my cousin who served in Vietnam with the 15th Field Artillery providing indirect fire support near the border. He always complained that he never got to see the shells impact and that somehow the Army was cheating him out of his rightful share of the fun.
But he didn't apreciate the efforts made by the local NVA unit during Tet to overrun his fire base. He just didn't think it was fair that they one, shot back and two, that they took his 105mm rounds personally. Ah, teenagers and their toys. |
