Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Jammin' with Jascha

Bach's Double Concerto, 2nd movement. It's more from Heifetz' Master Class, with Heifetz inviting "student" Eric Friedman to play first violin. Life does not get any better than this (if you have half-decent speakers). I think Heifetz wants it sped up a bit, but it's fine with me as is.

Right after looking at the master class video you posted, I watched this one. I remember seeing Heifetz (and Yehudi Menuhin and Horowitz and all the rest) in the Hollywood Bowl summer concerts when I was a kid. To a ten year old, hearing Heifetz play - live - was quite the deal. As is this today. Thanks.

As a musical illiterate, what do I know, but I think that the 2nd movement is one of the most moving things ever written.

Sounds out of tune to me, a little.

The movement is one of the first things I RealEncoded for the hard drive, years ago on my windows 95 machine, retired last June
