So sorry, msr Carroll but the Christ you present in this article, outside historian Josephus', isn't Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ didn't eschew violence when he drove the servants of unrighteous mammon from His Father's house.

It's you, eschewing violence while hiding from military service as priest until your war was passed.

Then the Inquistor let you out the door to wander in your own path of self-satisfaction.

Not in your case.

Rather, satisfaction and aspiration wedded, when you turned your back and walked out that door.
