Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Monday, December 3. 2007A few Monday morning links, plus ImusI am listening to Imus this morning on his debut on WABC. He is talking about the Rutgers thing in a wonderful, serious, and personal way. He is talking about his alcoholism and drug addiction. He says "Things worked out the way they should have worked out." He says the experience changed him for the better. "You can waste a lot of your life being bitter and unforgiving." Final bit of his monologue: "Dick Cheney is still a war criminal, Hillary Clinton is still Satan, and I'm back on the radio." He has Levon Helm playing on the set with Larry Campbell. Just terrific to hear Levon shoutin' it out. And no, I am not a big Imus fan, but I thought I would give him a chance this morning. A big NO for Chavez. That is great news for the Venezuelans. But, like the EU constitution, he'll find another way. "The things America spends money on." Auster Teddy Bears, Parked Cars, and Moral Equivalence. Powerline Dr X responds to the NYT piece on Psychoanalysis Behead the enemies of Steyn! Dr. Sanity Zimbabwe ringtones. h/t, Theo

Listening to Imus? Too bad he is not syndicated in Detroit... He is worth listening to for some of the interviews that he does with public officials. He'd be a lot better if his time slot was for 2-3 hours rather than 4. He'd probably get in less trouble with less time to fill. He's sorta like a kid with too much time on his hands.
Doping Imus should be in prison not on the air waves.
The ladies he called hos must be delighted that his magnanimous self is so forgiving. His broadcast ain't reaching here but ain't missed, either. Praise be, Thang lives.
Mita, ya'll've left unanswered, previously. So I'll just pet ya' until y'all catchup. That'a'girl. That's kind of brokeback, Leag. What're you going to pet me with? A cob of corn or a baseball bat?
Answer my question - Why should Imus be in prison? Don't make statements you can't back up. Sweetnuts. Speeak girl.
Ignorance of poor Donnie is yourn, mita not mine. I suppose wags'll always back up Imus. Y'all aint his backpack is ya? Calling Hillbillary Satan is slight devil's might tighten him up on. Calling POSUS war criminal is laughable ignorance but he does get paid to be such. Mitawag, back that up. Oink on Donnie boy.

Mitawag, I'll break it down real simple and try at same time not to step on y'all's cola.
Since you champion the king of cola, back him up on this: "Dick Cheney is still a war criminal" Stepup child and back y'all's king.

No. You answer the question posed to you first.
Then we'll play. Why should Imus be in jail?

I'm not really sorry I stepped on your tail.
Patois tome is rife with the answer but lasciviousness clouds judgement and is hard tail to sooth, mitawag. La? She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie except when she tucks her tail and says sorry, cola's king. La, la. "Dick Cheney is still a war criminal" Stepup mita.

Re: behead the enemies of Steyn
After Miss Santy finds her mind she might get a firm grip on it so it doesn't get away from her again. Psychological assistance then might further extend to Msr. Stayn as he is ecumenicly joking. www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,314579,00.html
A BIT OT, but piggy back on what Imus went thru: this link to Noose Hoax story breaking today. As I predicted: look for black finger prints on the nooses popping up everywhere, you might just find some. (especially when Jackson and Sharpton are involved) Back from Caracas and so soon.
I do like the image of piggy tail on Don's back. Cute piggy back pack filled w/ lil piggy sammiches him can share with other Don. The Don and Don show broadcasting from another fine federal country club of unknown location, to protect the innocent, of course. I be referring Donnie's tail, Buddy.
Cracker blew to much Caracas drain, obviously. Imus is a silly guy. That's what he does. Try being humorous for 4,5 hours everyday and see if you don't eventually say something 'insensitive'. Picking on girls in college was stupid, not criminal. An apology seemed to be the appropriate respone at the time until 'race' became the issue. Imus used to be funny when he drank. I'm not on the road as much as before so I don't hear him often.
I think a good, though dark, sense of humor by Mr. Steyn in his response to the question. After all, shouldn't that be the proper response by this time.
Offhand, i can't think of a single thing under the sun not improved by a sense of humor. If it ain't a divine comedy, then it's definitely somewhat of a grind. "Life" that is.
Can anyone understand Leag's "writing" (and I use the term loosely? I speak and read about three languages not including English and I can't understand a word of it.
i can't either, but do appreciate it as a sort of written rather than painted impressionism. or would that be expressionism--dunno, as the two concepts in my mind blink back n forth like a strobe when at their line of demarcation. 'blink' --i should say 'flash' (or 'flicker' depending on caffeine level).
anonymous above--i say to avoid confusion with other anonymi--is me, having temporarily lost my MF identity again.
Prima fascia mita does.
Perhaps, one of those other languages will come to ya, eventually. Keep practicin', dad. Let me help ya a bit. Cracker Donnie, who self admittedly is drug addict, had his nose in some powder which produces sinal drain. Caracas is a wash in such powder. Hope that helps a bit. I can't understand the Irish(?) poet(?) either. Perhaps a sock puppet.
No perhaps about it, I've seen sock puppet, too.
Seen one vanish urn's patina, too. Me thinks, mitawag puppet Imus. But, I never met a cocaine addict I liked. maybe it's Habu, up in Frozen Valley, Montana, wearing bearskin gloves and typing on a Blackberry --?
RE: Sock puppets...Seen one vanish urn's patina, too.
FYI, it is bad idea to 'vanish' urns patina, sock puppet. Always lowers value. Aphrodite's Blazing Mane!
By Sacajawea's Patera, me thinks protestant's unarmed. http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/jpeg/PIA00485.jpg Nevertheless, urn'd bin previously half de-patinated by one Elvira, orally fixated stump tailed macaque. Sock finished the job. Then she ate puppet. But y'all have proved point there is some little understanding but of what consequence dad will have to mull. of course it's Habu, caint youse recognizerate his ramblifications?
yeh--i kinda agree--the Brain is experimenting with us lab rats again--
Who would have thought that Leag is really Habu. Writing in eubonics, and jivin in rap.A clever fellow that Habu fooled all us turnips who fell off the turnip truck;unless Leag is really Leag who writes in clever prose.
Clever prose? Drunken patois is more like it.
If it is Habu, he's a truculent little piece, for sure. truculent little pieces are sure-fire charley horses unless you have one o them extended cab rigs
WTH does Imus stand for anyways? ...besides "his kids" and being Howard Stern for the old fogies?
he does good stuff with his ranch for kids with cancer--
