We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Blumenthal again

The revolting, oily Sidney Blumenthal is back working for the Clintons again.

This is the sort of Kos-like shrill hysteria, enraged derangement, fear-mongering, and distortion which is his stock in trade, from a piece at Salon:

Under crisis conditions of an extraordinary magnitude political leadership of the highest level will be required in the next presidency. The damage is broad, deep and spreading, apparent not only in international disorder and violence, the unprecedented decline of U.S. prestige, and the flouting of our security and economic interests but also in the hollowing out of the federal government's departments and agencies, and their growing incapacity to fulfill their functions, from FEMA to the Department of Justice.

If the choice should, God forbid, be so.

Poor Rudy would be handed his hat.

If one is going to be screwed by one or the other...

Okay, change the focus but I was enjoying the fiction.

Well, me thinks the sour from nondemocrats is a given but shared by the opposition.

Assuming the majority of those polled are democrats, they are not going to vote for any Republican.

Their discontent with Congressional Democrats they will assuage by voting a Democrat President.

In their mind, that is only remedy to congressional failures.

With that in mind, returning to the fictional choice, many republicans will not vote for RhinoRudy.

Such a choice is no choice and Republican abstention, write-in or raging frustrational vote to Hillbillary will pull a wedgy on Poor Rudy.

Republicans, outside of the fictional ticket foisted by apparatchik, will hand Poor RhinoRudy his hat at the primaries.
