Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

It only took her a day but Ms. Noonan finally, nailed it down and down right well, too.
Hillbillary can polka the breath out of the boys and leave them bitching like pups for days. (I hope it doesn't stretch into weeks.) They lost she won. Too, bad. No doubt, Obama is a killer with a real philosophy...a really ugly Muhammadan philosophy. http://opinionjournal.com/columnists/pnoonan/responses.html?article_id=110010810
ya gotta read these comments on the Noonan piece. Esp that of the New Mexico feller, ''sin verguenza''. "Hi, America, this is Hillary calling on my new Comcast phone, and I'm a centrist -hawk-free market person now, trust me"
"Sorry Roger, you still a tiger, and Hillary is still a socialist" "But I'm calling on my new Comcast phone" "Sorry Hillary, you still stink" Maybe it's just that I'm 60 and have been paying close attention to politics since I was about 10, seriously. majored in it,mastered in it, worked in it.
But what amazes me are the pundits like Peggy Noonan who are now saying, Ah, Ha, here's the real Hillary, leftest and all...well pardon my snickering but does Peggy think Hillary changed from eight years ago when she and the Clinton staff were looting the White House and AF-1 on the way out the door. Not to mention the eight years of selling US secrets to the Chinese, Monica, Hill's secret 600 person health care task force, the downsizing of the US Armed forces and a hundred other actions that placed us in greater peril when Bush took over than at any time since we waited breathlessly to see if George Pickett could take that ridge at Gettysburg? If I remember correctly someone even spray painted stuff on some of the walls in the White House. Folks this is the same group. Hillary is the high priestess of the Left in the USA right now. She may become President and if she does we'll probably have some real big trouble. In fact if any of the current crop become President you're gonna see Civil War II. I went to the gunshop today, continuing to buy ammo ,clips etc so that when either we're fighting the Islamo-fascists or Mexican illegals or the Democratic Communist Party or a combo of I'll be ready. I see standing room only at the gun store every time I go and the overheard conversations from everyone is "it's coming"..........anybody else hearing that or are we still living the American dream? Habu, you'd be flabbergasted if you could hear the number of folks around here who feel closer to Mexico than they do the DC Democrats. I think the behavior on the war has just about iced things around here, people are wondering if we wouldn't be better off with Mexico. It's a goddamn shame what these last few years have done to the nation.
Does anyone remember the first James Bond movie, "From Russia With Love" ?
Remember the little old lady KGB spy with the knife blades sticking out of her shoes--the one who almooost killed old 007 ? Remind you of anybody ? Rosa Krebs. can't remember where I put my keys, but can remember a name from a pulp novel i read 40 years ago
Buddy, I imagine you're talking about Anglos who feel closer to Mexico, since it is a given that to be Mexican in this country to day means you're pro revanchism.
If that is a correct assumption then I am indeed amazed. Do you suppose it's some manifestation of the Stockholm Syndrome? I mean I know the Democrats have tried to whitewash their agreement that Saddam had WMD's, that he posed a threat etc. I know they where the first to cry "let's cut and run" but my God in Heaven don't they understand the consequences of that? The Atlantic and Pacific Oceans mean nothing anymore as a protection from harm. I do not understand. I watched as this nation allowed it's foreign policy to be left at the mercy of the so-called Middle Six - Angola, Cameroon, Guinea, Chile, Mexico and Pakistan - whose support or otherwise was to seal our support and likely to characterize how the world, particularly the Islamic world, reacts to any US-led war. That is absurd for a superpower to place itself in that position but the US left demanded we do the UN hat-in-hand job. So in the capitals of Angola, Cameroon, and Guinea our foreign policy was largely decided. Unreal. this is rather interesting..from Am. Thinker.
November 02, 2007 Syrian nuclear facility attack: Curiouser and curiouser Thomas Lifson The Jerusalem Post carries a stunning report today, citing a report on the Al Jazeera website that United States Air Force jets armed with tactical nuclear weapons participated in the September 6 air raid on the suspected Syrian-North Korean nuclear facility. Caution is warranted, as commenters on the Jerusalem Post item dismiss it. The same facility whose ruins have been bulldozed and presumably sanitized of all nuclear evidence by Syria. If (and this is a big if) the AJ report is true, there is a lot more going on in the Middle East than is visible to the rest of us. Hardball is usually played in private. Habu comment: It would certainly explain why the newly purchased , Russian, state-of-the-art radar system worked like a fried microwave. Since we knew Iran just purchased the very same radar system it makes since we'd have gone along to support and gather very valuable electronic intel...gosh I love it when we just beat the Soviets and tha Muzzzies......I will dance all night when we bomb Natanz and the rest of Iran. Persia ain't com'in back as a world power.....we'll keep bombing them until they understand that ...unless of course we get a Democratic President who will immediate buy a very thick prayer rug , go to Tehran, prostrate himself/herslf and beg mercy from allah. heck, Persia can be as powerful as it wants--nobody's trying to stop normal nations from becoming powerful. The mullahs are just NUTs is all--jeez. nose on face obvious. Small war now, or big war later. crappy choice--but not a difficult one.

http://author.nationalreview.com/latest/?q=MjE5NQ== Jonah wrote a nice article. She'll get to answer those questions and a good deal more if she gets the nomination.
I can't believe the RNC hasn't got a TON of video prepared, briefing books on every policy she's ever mentioned...if they don't somebody needs their butt kicked. I just wish Newt , even with his baggage, which they all have, hadn't dropped out simply for his debating prowess. When he begins to unwind on an issue I've never seen anyone better. Talked with a recently discharge Marine today at the gun store. He got hurt on his forth deployment to Iraq and it took him out of the Corps. He said he was fine and was taking helicopter training to be a whirlygig guy. I was buying a new Remington 700 w/ Leupold scope (scope cost more than the rifle) and when someone else mentioned Hillary as President he look at me and said "That's what that scopes for" ....i quickly and loudly disabused him of that thought even as a joke .....but he definitely got animated about a Democrat in the WH and said 99% of his buddies felt the same way..the military annd ex military vote should go heavily Rep. I'm confident we can hold the WH. Next summer I'm thinking of deploying myself (against my own advice) to the SW Border with the Minutemen ..they seem to be growing and I know it would make me feel useful... Well, i sincerely hope & pray we never have to shoot our way back to the Constitution--LOL. Yes, i think we can keep the WH but you gotta remember the power of bloc voting. Kerry got 47+% remember, and one could've hardly designed a less pleasant, inspiring, or mainstream candidate.
700 is a mighty nice rifle. My fave is a Remington bolt, too--an old Model 660. I bought it years ago because it was short-barreled & easy to handle in a high deer stand. Later learned that the 660 is, short barrel and all, one of the most accurate sport rifles ever produced. I had noted that mine was very true, but ascribed it to scope and skill (aka 'luck'), because how could a shorty barrel be accurate relative to the longer? But that's what the book says, in my .308 anyway. Nice bolt, if you can tolerate the hassle of a bolt--which I kinda like, on the notion that bolts run all their power out the muzzle, and accurate shooting, all else equal, is preferable to fast shooting, hunting-wise. Whitetail in broken country only give you the one shot anyway. |
