Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Amazing how they did not have a problem when the dems held the presidency and both houses of congress. And they didn't have a problem when the dems held both houses of congress and did all they could to stymie the president when the president was a republican. Their agenda is so transparent and yet I have friends who claim that the conservatives control the media.

I know the challenge. As far as having friends who believe the media is controlled by the right, I'm sure a good percentage also believe that 9-11 was an inside job, that Gore won the 2000 election but that it was stolen from him , and that Dick Cheney is the nexus of all evil on this Earth....I too had that problem until I started to referring to them in the correct vernacular ...former-friends.

As an Islamofascism Awareness Week lagniappe is Maggies Farm offering, at a deep discount, the famous chia head ayatollah ? If so I would like to order some, along with the special Port-o-let Qu’ran with perforated pages for easy tear off.

Twain was a truly great writer. I also like Joel Chandler Harris but I don't reck'on da Uncle Remus never would use a word like lagniappe.

What we all eventually die of is hypoxemia, or lack of oxygen to the brain, no matter what other injury or disease is present. The NYT is indeed starving for oxygen, becoming more disoriented and will no doubt not recover it's lost L'Éminence Grise to the movers and shakers.

So far I have enjoyed all of it's self immolation to this point and only wish them the best in keeping the home fires burning, consuming all the available oxygen until death's boney finger flicks away the ashes.

I would prefer to see the NYT rejoin the world of reality. Perhaps they will not, since their apparent death wish includes not only their business, but their country.
