Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Went to the regatta recently. I have gone to lots of football and lacrosse games to watch my nephews play but had not many opportunities to see my niece participate in her chosen sport. She is the coxswain for the men's rowing team at her college. They did very well and they were competing against much bigger schools like Harvard, Yale and Brown, etc. It was fun watching her yelling at the men. Stroke, stroke, stroke!

Well, actually I don't think those are the exact words she uses. I stole that from The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. Rowing is high tech now too. I think the boat is made of kevlar and she wears a GPS system. She directs the rowers via a headset with the speakers placed throughout the boat.

talk about obscene --the Nazi pix will give you shivers. Maybe it's imagination--but those people look like they know how guilty they are.
