Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

The Frost Family

Re that kid who was trotted out by the Dems to promote SCHIP, here's the rest of the story at Surber, Insty, and Steyn. Apparently this family made life choices which did not include insurance for their kids.

That is not "need." That is "choice." In America, we try to take responsibility for our choices like big boys and girls. (h/t, Buddy)

What's striking is not that the Dems would stoop to use an injured 12 yr old to mislead the nation on the socialist scheme in question, but that an organization that presumes the skill to run the program is maladroit enough to have selected the Frost family --especially (one notes cynically) when their background is so easily known.

This is the socialist brain-trust?

One wonders if this brain trust can differentiate between a nation and a social-science term paper.
