Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

From Der Spiegel today, a comparison of the assimilation of Muslims in the U.S. versus Europe and the role of religious tolerance in the U.S., which is not akin to allowing civil law to be supplanted by Sharia.

One needs a score card to keep track of who is who in Canadian politics but it is apparent that the new federal Liberal leader Stephane Dion is already very close to being done like dinner. The next leader of the Liberals might be a 30 year ex-pat, ex-Harvard prof who is a descendent of the Tsar. Should be interesting.

Also, NJ, Melissa does have nice teeth. They are not too big for her face.
