You'll discove that I'm probably the mosy abrasive and polemic of the folks 'round here. Just calibrate that into your thoughts and you too will be going the Habu eye roll and moving on to make your point.

You folks should have seen our non political tribute to the iron skillett ..had quite a turnout...and it was fun,relaxing, away from the political ..folks could just enjoy ...

So please don't think Habu's got the market cornered on ideas or any of that..why just a week ago Tom in Stamford had to gently break the news to me that the South lost the Civil War...and as good and smart as he is it took us three days to get there.

As you I am sure are aware the South did not present medals to any of their troops of any rank for any reason. The highest accolade you could receive was to be mentioned in an official report, so as I said, I am honored.

I fairly confident somewhere in my reading that I've come across the reason for no medals. Wheather it was from Lee or Jefferson Davis I don't recall..Since it wasn't until June of 1862 that Lee took command in the East I have a feeling it was Davis who thought that to single out one man for a medal would do more harm than good, so they eschewed it.

The North used the MOH. More than that brevit ranking was used to honor bravery in battle. Custer, although graduating near the bottom of his class at WP was brevited up to Brig General in a flash because he was fearless and got'er done.

Controversial exposé on North American Union a quick best-seller

fter becoming a New York Times best-seller just weeks after its release, "The Late Great USA" – which exposes government plans to promote integration of the U.S., Mexico and Canada – is No. 8 on the paper's list of hardcover business books.

Written by Jerome Corsi, Ph.D., co-author of "Unfit for Command" which became a No. 1 New York Times best-seller and a decisive influence in the 2004 election, "The Late Great USA" exposes the multifaceted plan to turn the U.S., Canada and Mexico into a North American version of the European Union.

Corsi's book, which already has reached the No. 1 spot on Amazon's "Nonfiction" list was No. 28 on the Times list overall list last week.

Although the book has attracted a firestorm of reader interest nationwide, the Bush administration is less enthusiastic, with Commerce Department spokesman Richard Mills attacking Corsi's analysis comparing what's happening in North America to the stealth process that brought about the European Union over the course of 50 years.

"The fact that 'The Late Great USA' is already in its third printing and is a New York Times best-seller," said Corsi, "shows that people are getting the message about our government's indifference – if not outright contempt – for what American citizens want, which is a free, strong and independent United States."

The author added: "The defeat of the recent Senate immigration bill proves that our voices about the importance of American sovereignty are being heard. But clearly, George W. Bush still isn't listening – or just doesn't care."

Understanding the plan to merge the U.S., Mexico and Canada, says Corsi, is "the only context in which the current immigration travesty makes sense – and it must be stopped."

In "The Late Great USA," Corsi shows how the Security and Prosperity Partnership, or SPP, an agreement signed in 2005 by President George W. Bush, Paul Martin of Canada and Vicente Fox of Mexico, is nothing less than a full-frontal assault on American sovereignty.

This aim to create a North American Union between the United States, Mexico and Canada is the real reason behind "comprehensive immigration reform."

Says Corsi, Bush's goal to create a North American Union – with no borders, a shared currency, and utterly no voice for average Americans in their own futures – is the real reason he won't enforce immigration laws

(I wrote this was the reason for not enforcing the immigration laws months ago and I've never read the book...but I have been following the story for over a year and it was just a natural fit..H)

Utilizing thousands of documents released as a result of the Freedom of Information Act, "The Late Great USA" shows how unelected bureaucrats in faceless agencies such as the Department of Commerce have been given the power to foist the NAU on the American public incrementally.

"The European Union, which now holds millions of voiceless, voteless Europeans in thrall to a heedless Brussels bureaucracy, was put into place little by little over a 50-year period," Corsi writes, "not by the citizens of the member states, but by elitists who disguised their goal of a regional government."

In the book, Corsi details:

1. The tactics unelected globalist business leaders, bureaucrats and taxpayer-funded academics are using to lead to the merger of the United States with Mexico and Canada

2. How the state of Texas is seizing millions of acres of privately owned land so foreign investors can cash in on a NAFTA "super-highway" from Mexico to the Canadian border.

3. How China, through its proxies in Mexico, plans to bring the world's sole superpower to its knees economically – without firing a shot.

"A North American Union would not just be the end of America as we know it," claims Corsi, "but the beginning of an EU-like nightmare – a bureaucratic coup d'etat foisted upon millions of Americans without their knowledge or consent."

"The Late Great USA" is a meticulously researched story of deceit, the chapters of which are being written in secret.

"The Security and Prosperity Partnership is not just unconstitutional, but an act of treason at the highest levels," he says. "Anyone who cares about the future of this country – our children’s future – must act now against a North American Union and the underhanded way in which our sovereignty is being compromised, one illegal alien at a time."

Meet Carlos X. Carrillo, national disgrace.


Usually when people wish to conceal the truth, they, and politicians especially, will use deflection techniques. Bill Clinton during his two terms in office was a master at playing the deflection game. The Bush Administration has engaged in deflection as well, with the President shrugging off questions about plans to create a “North American Union.” After meeting recently with Mexico's President Felipe Calderon and Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper in Quebec to discuss the Security and Prosperity Partnership, Mr. Bush chose ridicule as a means of avoiding answering a direct question about the true goals of the SPP, claiming its opponents were using “scare tactics.”

By branding those of us connecting the dots on this move to erase our national borders and sovereignty as conspiracy kooks, Bush is attempting to keep Joe Six-Pack from learning of these plans, and keeping him focused on watching American Idol, or whatever is currently passing for entertainment.

So where does one Mr. Carlos Carrillo fit into all of this? It has come to light that Mr. Carrillo, Border Patrol sector chief of Laredo, made a statement at a Laredo Town Hall meeting, as reported in the Laredo Morning Times, that was to say the least, provocative:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The Border Patrol’s job is not to stop illegal immigrants. The Border Patrol’s job is not to stop narcotics . . . or contraband or narcotics . . . the Border Patrol’s mission is not to stop criminals. The Border Patrol’s mission is to stop terrorists and terrorist weapons from entering the country.

The Border Patrol’s job isn’t to stop illegal immigrants, narcotics and criminals? Perhaps Mr. Carrillo forgot to read his job description when he was hired in the first place.

In any event, Carrillo has attracted the attention of congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO), who believes Carrillo should seek employment elsewhere:

If the Border Patrol is no longer trying to stop illegal entry into our country, border states will have to set up their own border police to halt this flow. I think this will be news to the governors in Texas, Arizona, California and a dozen states on the northern border.

Either Carrillo was speaking for the agency or he was not. If he was, then Congressional leaders will need to have a serious ‘sit-down’ with Secretary Chertoff and his Border Patrol Chief, David Aguilar. If he was not speaking for the agency, then Border Patrol Chief Aguilar should remove him for his unprofessional conduct.

If Carrillo’s statement wasn’t enough to boggle your mind, the illogic used by a court in Kansas would have caused Star Trek’s Mr. Spock to start talking to himself. Court of Appeals Judge Hannellore Kitts overturned an illegal alien’s jail term, ruling that, “while it is illegal to enter the country without permission, it is not necessarily illegal for an illegal alien to remain in the country.” As they say, you can’t make this stuff up, folks.

I agree that Mr. Carrillo should be removed from his position – his “talents” would be better served as a ticket taker for one of the Laredo movie theaters, where the definition of who gains entry should not escape his comprehension. Unfortunately, I see the Bush Administration doing nothing, as stopping illegal aliens from crossing our border has not exactly been one of their priorities. The fact is, Bush & Co., by doing nothing to stop it, have accomplished everything in order to facilitate illegal entry into the U.S. since gaining power. They suffered a setback when their amnesty bill went down in flames recently, due to the efforts of a large grassroots movement to quash it, but make no mistake – they haven’t given up. Amnesty is a major strategy in the move to erase our borders – the only question is when it will be revived.

This is all part and parcel of something which is becoming easier to connect the dots – if one will only look. The NAFTA Super Highway, the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST), U.N global taxation, illogical judges, amnesty for illegal aliens, failure to secure the border, the SPP . . .

The “North American Union” would be a place where borders would be meaningless.

Carlos Carrillo would be right at home.

The damn place is six feet below sea level and right in hurricane alley....just how insane are we? Where are the responsible members of Congress..forget that..where are the citizens standing up shouting "THE F'N PLACE IS SIX FEET BELOW SEA LEVEL, NOT A DIME FOR RECONSTRUCTION"

I know I'm not and I'm a Southerner but rebuilding NO at the same location makes no sense to me at all.
