We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Sounded like a heck of a festival Garry. Do they still have that festival and is it still that good?
I saw Prine at the Schaeffer Music concerts in Central Park in the early 70's. Steve Goodman was there with him. I think Jesse Winchester was the headliner. It was a good show.
Mariposa continues, since the first in 1961. The complete story can be had if you Google "Mariposa Folk Festival". They were fun times. I'm looking at the program which cost the then huge amount of 25 cents. But the festival is not the same.
Oh, I forgot to add Steve Goodman to my remembered favourites! In later years I caught Steve at the "Riverboat Cafe", also a historic Toronto venue, for 3 shows.
