We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Speaking of duh, one kind of peace is piece of mind, which I give myself ALL of the time for not being clear.
The flipside of diversity-mongering by free societies is the forced conformity and denial of people’s uniqueness by totalitarian ones for a utilitarian peace. In my closet is a woman's Mao suit a relative got in China when it first opened up to a few touring Westerners in the seventies. Looks exactly like a man's Mao suit, just smaller. The drab cheap cotton uniform is like the prison garb of a population incarcerated for harboring differences of gender, region, history, interests and opinion and having to be punished out of them, to more harmoniously serve a state intent on bettering it into becoming a political construct comprised of billions of economic units.
Johan Galtung, it's okay to be wrong and proud, but not re---ally wrong. Like so wrong little children laugh at you, wrong. John, I'm not holding idiocy against you. Good luck in the Scholastic Special Olymics. Be well, but please, be quiet.
