We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The huge 1st century BC Hunnu Kingdom, against which the Great Wall of China was a defence, seems to have consisted of Mongols. Attila, too. As a wag commented, hunnu?
And, what about the Celts? Some theorists have it that they too migrated down from somewhere in the upper Gobi.
Most recently, there was discovered several well preserved bodies buried alongside what used to be a very isolated outpost on the Silk Route--way out in the desert. The remains are very well preserved and have been identified by their red hair and facial features as being Celtic/Irish. They were either working a trading route, or they were migrating. But that was I believe about 1,000 years before Christ. If you can find info on this please forward--it is very interesting.

Link 3 is PhDiva, an archaeologist with a POV. I had her in my favorites sometime ago but have not visited in a while. She is pretty interesting I think.
