We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

I'm sorry. I still don't think that our current president has been that bad. Upon entering the presidency his first mistake was to have the grace not to fire all of the liberal inhabitants of appointed positions--he should have. Tenet would have been a good first one to go, how about the head of FEMA he should have gone. On numerous occasions he tried to make nice with the "other side", even accepting John McKay as a US Attorney (WA State). It was this initial grace that left him with a poor chain of command, and incompetents to handle the series of crises that have bombarded his presidency. THEN we have the liberal media they could make MOther Theresa look like a member of the Sopranos! Naah--they haven't convinced me yet. HOWEVER, there is one crime/error that must be addressed and again the evil is on both sides: failing to provide our troops with highest quality materiel! I thought we had overcome that one back in WWII
