We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
"Through me the way into the suffering city, Through me the way to the eternal pain, Through me the way that runs among the lost. Justice urged on my high artificer; My maker was divine authority, The highest wisdom, and the primal love. Before me nothing but eternal things were made, And I endure eternally. Abandon every hope, ye who enter here."
Second level, my ass--you're just as wrathful and sullen as I am, damn you.
Seriously--h/t Allen over @ belmont, this will cap your day of celebrating the great outcome in France: (prepare for chills)
Well, I finished poorly because I included my whole life--including a youth when I was a pretty sloppy human being. I no longer like who I was, but the questions didn't allow for the 'time' nuance. So I burned on down to the fifth circle.
Strange link mika, a little OT maybe, but I've done worse. Not sure of the psychology of someone who would allow that with their child, except that in some regions life is cheap. If you were attempting to relate to Dante, it was completely over my head.
I think his theology of sola fide - salvation through faith alone (which us Protestants are supposed to believe in) is based on St. Augustine as well as many Bible verses. It's been so long since I read Augustine in college, I'm no longer sure.
