Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

A Climate Sampler

Some of these linkworthy links are via Junk Science, and some are ones I found.

Solar Variation, at Wikipedia. Does the sun's output vary? Yes, it does. Not a whole lot, though. I am still inclined to blame Mr. Sun for our climate, in general. He is more than a big lightbulb.

The UN Global Warming report will scare people...if they take it seriously. I would never take anything from the UN seriously: they are a political organization.

A temp vs. CO2 graph. But what is cause and what is effect? CO2 is such a trivial part of the atmosphere, it's difficult to believe it could be a climate determinant compared, say, with water vapor.

Isn't that always the problem with hysterical presentation? Some segment of the population takes literally "They're KILLING the EARTH!". So, faced with an Earth Killer, it's kill or be killed.

duToit points out the 'swindle' movie was made by Marxists, oddly enough, who see the Algore Movement as a sure bet to strangle the developing world. Interesting how that little reality has so utterly escaped the Beautiful People.
