Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Campbell Apartment Re-do

We mentioned one of our favorite little hide-aways in NYC in our piece on cool NYC websites a long time ago. One thing we like about the Campbell Apartment is that it is in Grand Central Station, and thus very convenient when waiting on a train. Plus I do like it. They know how to make a Martini.

The story of their overnight conversion to posh is amusing. NYT

What a great place to have an office. Those Campbells are/were everywhere. I remember hearing an old clan saying about the 'black hearts of the Campbells'. Can not quite recall it though. Something about there being no night blacker than the black heart of a Campbell.
Doing a twelve hour reno in Grand Central would be a very interesting job. IMO, changing the decor from blue to red is a pretty safe bet. The martinis should taste even better now.

If I get to know me and we go to NYC will we get 4 for 1 when it's 2 for 1 at the local watering hole?

I am afraid. NYC is expensive. Please each of you send me $200.00 and I will send some of us, me to Iowa or Iraq. They both start with I and it may be what we need. It's always good to have a third I. Perhaps they could find a solution

Oh dear. Is that the same family that used to own every tree between Seattle and St. Paul MN? They own banks, shopping malls, judges, bishops: you name it they own it.
