Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Wednesday, January 31. 2007A few Weds Morning LinksMaggie's Farm is up and running. Limping, bleeding, but alive to fight another day. See our post from last night on Our Denial of Service Attack. We continue to block a good deal of our legitimate traffic, and commenting will be open sporadically today - if at all. An Aussie is offended by the Aussie flag. I am offended that the Aussie is offended. Mark Green's brother buys him a radio network. Air America. What a nice brother. Those outside the northeast don't know who Mark Green is. Here's the story. Mr. Edwards Builds his Dream House. Richard Clark - yes, that Richard Clark, on Iran. When people ask "When will we go to war with Iran?", I say "We already are." Meanwhile, Jon Cary attacks the US from Iran. That is beyond dissent: that is disloyal, if not utterly insane. But that's why we call him Pariah Kerry. Someone needs to run against him in MA. How about it, Neo-neocon? Two new books by Warming doubters. via Drudge Some of the problems with Vista. Chris Hedges scares me. Coyote A rational Senator? Lugar on Iraq.

So Pariah Kerry in his (relative youth) leads an anti American war effort, tossing medals over the WH fence, falsely testifying before congress on atrocities he never saw and then is outed by the Swiftboat vets.
This redoubles his hatred of the US after getting beaten in the election so he is now the enfant terrible and beyond to a Benedict Arnold . This of course does not include attending meetings where discussions were held to MURDER a U.S. Senator. And yet now with a Democratically controlled congress he can do and say what he wants with impunity. Still a friend to our enemies and a traitor to his country. Massachusetts is one hugely fucked up state to have Kennedy and Kerry..I mean enormously fucked up. Chris Hedges
We have a slow motion, low boil civil war at home and a hot war in the ME. Congress is now in the hands of some genuinely treacherous people and the President, save for his reslouteness on the war in the ME is despondent ....I'm in there with him...what a mess. Rational Senator.
No I'm not talking about Sen. Lugar. I'm talking about the rational Senator, as yet unidentified who will take up the tradition established by Congressman Preston Brooks who caned Senator Charles Sumner after he had delievered a previously announce, highly vitrioloic, jeremiad against Senator Andrew Butler, a cousin of Rep Brooks. Brooks enterented the Senate chamber after the close of business, confronted Sen. Sumner and proceeded to cane him con brio. It took Sumner two years to recover. Where can we find that Senator or Representative to handle some in the Senate who are traitors? When we do I'll send him the cane. Re vista
Forget windows. Get a Mac and get over it. To run the full vista you need a computer as expensive as but not as useful, beautiful or as relatively secure as a Mac. I've had on helluva time locating a Chia Head of John Kerry.
Does anyone know where, besides Davos, a guy can get one? I'd also like to get some chia hooters of Nancy Pelosi. O-Tay We be neer'n Black History month. It be starts tomorrow.
I'd be kindness to ya if you would high set some of the folks who did some good work who just happen to be dark. Eubone Jefferson RE: John Edwards house....
Here is a photo of them putting the cupola on the barn. http://enr.construction.com/photoContest/2006/archives/2006-5.asp Thanks for the pointer to the two climate books. I was reading it just as Fox was broadcasting a snip on corruption (payoffs for votes on officers and project approvals) in the UN's World Meteorological Organization. I'll try to find a link and report back (call me Jimmy Olsen).
Saw that report on Fox on the WMO. The whole time the whistleblower was talking, I was thinking...are they going to snuff her out? Eric Shawn is hot on this stuff. Heh....think he'll get a Pulitzer? duh...
Suits me fine to have Kerry doing his thing. Pendulums always swing back. Sure would be nice if a gaggle of his congress cohorts would line up at the airport when he disembarks and spit on him for a second time. .. ahh, to dream. Chris Hedges: A comment from his post
>How far has the national dialog degraded when a blog post about tolerance has to have a post script that asks for tolerance when responding. How did we get here? Has it ever been this bad before? Why is the solution to intolerance always equally extreme intolerance from the other side? Posted by: Tim | Jan 30, 2007 8:25:56 AM< Nothing much else to add... well, between the extreme Christians and the extreme anti-Christians, I know which I'd choose to be a boss or employee, neighbor, friend, baby-sitter, mechanic, doctor, lawyer, banker, plumber, or just someone to sit & shoot the breeze with.
Is Chris Hedges the same guy that Cheney open-mike goofed and said to Bush, in a 2000 cmpgn event, was an "asshole"?
The name strikes a bell. If so, more power to Cheney. It was way worse than this for twenty years prior to our Civil War...what we have now is patty cake compared to that time in history.
I mean in those days you could be dead in a heartbeat for wearing the wrong suspenders. I watched a documentary of Bush's first campaign. Oddly enough, it was made by Pelosi's daughter. Anyway, it was good and she caught a lot of extraneous stuff. In one shot, Bush is in the middle of the plane with the reporters just in back, and she is filming him talking to a couple of guys. You can hear him plain as day say, "Oh, he's an asshole." ha ha. He laughed that dumb laugh. I loved it. It just made him human or something, and I remind myself of that when I see him so aged and tired from that moment almost eight years ago.
It has been a long 8 years Phoenix. Lots of water over the dam. But Pres. Bush still has some of that old spark. The pictures from Jan. 30 show that he really enjoyed himself while visiting the Caterpillar plant. Driving a D-10 Cat towards a gaggle of reporters put that old spring back in his step. lol.
"I would suggest moving back. I'm about to crank this sucker up." Pres. George Bush. Jan 30, 2007 |
