We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
No sooner do we get through Kwaanza and the BCS when we are confronted with the ramp up to Black History Month.
This years theme is for every African American to either identify or adopt a tribe in their homeland, Africa.
American Indians all know their heritage and if asked can tell you immediately which tribe they are from. We, the pround participants in Black History Month want each and every Black American to be able to have that same tribal bond.
So either find out or just adopt a tribe. There are a number of tribes looking for new members. Unfortunately others, such as the Zulus (known as the New York Yankees of tribes) are full up and aren't taking new members.
So start that research or lobby the federal government to do the research for you thru your AFDC program.
Have that great tribal experience, Rwanda style.
