Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

We have recently stumbled upon two blogs we enjoy.

First, La Vida Vica. The intriguing and mysterious author does not post often enough, but she is good. (h/t, S,C and A). She is amusing in her piece about wanting to be lesbian because she can't get a date.

Second, M. Simon's Power and Control.

La Vida Vica. At first my early morning latin brain translated it as "The Cow's Life" but then I read the post about being a blonde and knew I had to be wrong....very cute site. Any woman with that sense of humor should have no trouble being taken at #7. Of course there's always the mystery writer Raymond Chandler's remark.

"From 30 feet away she looked like a lot of class. From 10 feet away she looked like something made up to be seen from 30 feet away."
